Shabbat Shalom To the Royal Family,

This Weeks Mailbox

Last week I again sent out a message on conspiracy teachings and how they are harmful. Some thought it was too much. Or maybe they were talking about the Picking Up Sticks article which I again posted by mistake. Here are some of the comments sent to me about last weeks News Letter.

I do hope you all take advantage of having your comments heard at the end of each News Letter. Your thoughts may be of help to others who read them. Please do feel free to express yourself at the end of each newsletter. Rest assured I will remove inappropriate comments. If you see one please let me know.

I was in desperate need of this message. Thanks for passing it along!

Brother Joe,

Not sure what is going on where you are but this is the third week in a row the link you have sent me for “Read Newletter”, has taken me to the newsletter you wrote when you returned from Sukkot and told the story about the lady who was murdered returning home from Sukkot and the people who traveled on the Sabbath to get to Israel to save some money.

I greatly look forward to reading what Yah has shown you or is using you and others around you to do in the world and would like to get a fresh newsletter commenting on those things. There may be a different way to access the current newsletter but I’m sure you are not linking to the old one deliberately. There must be a glitch somewhere.

Shabbat Shalom,
Jim Heffelbower

It would seem that although I made sure to get the links right this past week, I once again posted the link to the article Picking up Sticks. Perhaps the next comment is correct and Yehovah is wanting that article to be seen by more of you.

Shabbat shalom Joe!!

It’s up again on this weeks letter ! But comments etc are current.

You know it really was an incredible letter in correcting us with genuine love and concern so I do have to wonder if there isn’t a reason for it to be reposted again and again. Perhaps Yah wants to make sure everyone gets to read it !!!!
And I admittedly like that people can see again that Yah truly is faithful to us when we strive to obey Him , as The fire pictures show.

Have a wonderful rest in Him!

Love and hug

I want to thank all of those of you who pray for me and my wife and our situation here. None of us will know how much those prayers have helped so that I can do the things I do to further His message. Thank you all.

Two weeks ago now, I was told my Brother-in-law has cancer in his Esophagus, Liver, Kidney, lung, and bones. My Sister and her husband are avid mountain bike riders and marathon runners. My sister is also an Ironman contestant. Her husband is a volunteer firefighter. He has provided the happiness to my sister now since they were married 35 years ago. So when they told me he had cancer and just how fast it was racing through his body, I went into defense mode and went and got him some Hemp Oil. I then learned about Essiac Tea and ordered that for them. I have taken this on in order to help them while they deal with all the stresses of the various testing they are doing.

Like many of you, I too have a life to deal with along with those things I teach you. We are not getting younger, no matter how much we lie to ourselves in front of the mirror. So I do appreciate that some of you do pray for us and what we are doing. Would you also pray for my Brother-in-law? Thank you.

Shabbat shalom Joseph.

Tell your Barbara there’s a Torah head in Galway who regularly prays for her, gives Yehovah thanks for her,and commends her to the Father for what she gives up to help make you so good.
I really appreciate you for your teaching this week Joseph.
Love from Galway.
Yehovah bless you good.

This next note sent to me means a lot. I have since day one only tried to share what could be proven as truth and never cared if it upset people. This weeks News Letter begins a series of teachings that will shake many to the core. I ask that each of you prove those things I say one way or the other. This means you must do your own research.

I love that you “don’t sacrafice the truth even though the truth may actually hurt someone”! END

I love that you boldly proclaim the truth!

Our last note is someone who buys more books than he needs in order to have them available to give away to those he is teaching these truths to. We need more like him.

Also, I’ve read all of the books and own multiple copies, as I wanted some for my family.  Originally, I had stored them in a care package for my children (for later in life) as they contain much of the same information that I have taught them over the years while they were growing up.  However my oldest son, Benjamin, recently has opened up the package and read through the first two books this college semester.  He also subscribed to your newsletter at the same time.  He often has very specific questions, and your books have answered some of those for him in a very positive way.

A while back, I wrote a very short “light-weight” book years ago that merely introduced many Torah concepts, but then basically says to try and learn more on your own.  I never have been content with my attempts at that book because I left out what I believe to be very important specifics as to not overwhelm the reader (for example: when the actual holy days are and that I have kept that agricultural calendar, and not some calculated rabbi estimate and such).  Your books, on the other hand, are bold and researched such as to give your very specific views on matters.  That is a major plus/need.   Having e-books copies as well will give me the benefit of “searching” electronically, if I need to find a specific detail that I remember reading.

As for a specific more detailed review/feedback of your book(s), I am actually thinking that through at the moment how best to positively word it.  When I purchased your e-books, I also went out to Amazon and purchased another copy of “The Prophecies of Abraham” to send to a friend.  I usually purchase physical copies through the links on your website, as I realize that by purchasing a used copy on Amazon that it does not really benefit you financially.  However, my thoughts in doing so this one time was to allow me the opportunity to write a positive review on the book when Amazon lets me.  I’ll send you a link to that review after I write it.

This Remembrance Day

November 11, is remembrance day. It is the day we look back at The Great War and remember those who gave their lives in order to grant us the freedom we now enjoy and do not appreciate. The war was officially over at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. This Great war that was the war to end all wars was followed by another even worse war just 30 years later.

World War II was the deadliest conflict in human history, marked by 50 million to 85 million fatalities, most of which were civilians in the Soviet Union and China. It included massacres, the deliberate genocide of the Holocaust, strategic bombing, starvation, disease and the first use of nuclear weapons in history. Compare these numbers to WW I which had more than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, who were mobilized in one of the largest wars in history up to that time. Over nine million combatants and seven million civilians died as a result of the war (including the victims of a number of genocides).

WW II had 6 times more fatalities than WW I combine civilians and combatants.

If we then use that same multiple of 6 Xs greater and multiply the 85 Million by 6 then we have 510 Million projected to die in WW III. But the next war comes in three phases. First, the King of the North must overwhelm and conquer the King of the South. Then Israel, all 12 tribes, must be conquered and defeated by this same King of the North. Then Russia and China are going to unite to defeat this King of the North. But only after they suffer heavy losses of their own.

Your bible tells us that the Two Witnesses will cause the rain to stop for 3 1/2 years. It is during this time that 1/4 of the earth people die. The earth’s population today is 7.6 Billion, so 1/4 of these will be 1.9 Billion alone not counting those who die in the wars. But the population of the Israelite nations today is about 550 Million. If only 10% survive that means 495 Million must die in the coming war and captivity. That number alone already matches the projected 510 Million that we just talked about but it does not include the loss of life in the other nations nor that spoken of that would be caused by the Two Witnesses curse on the earth.

This remembrance day I want you to remember what Daniel tells you. That in the middle of the 70th Jubilee Cycle Israel, the anointed will be cut off and be as if they never were. Israel, all 12 tribes. The middle of this 70th Jubilee, since Moses was told to go and get Yehovah’s people, is the year 2020. That is now less than 2 1/2 years from now.

With this now rolling around in your mind, I want you to know that Ezekiel was captured and taken into captivity about 600 BC with some of the Jewish inhabitants of that time. He is given this message before 586 BC when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians. But this message is also for the tribes of Israel. The trouble is that Israel went into captivity about 137 years before Judah fell. If today is 2017 then 137 years ago would be 1880. That is the same amount of time Israel had been gone. And yet in the prophecy given to Ezekiel, he was told to speak to the Israelites who were already gone 137 years before. And the last verse speaks of the coming King who would take over at the 7th Millennium. So although this prophecy is speaking to Judah at that time just before they fell, it is also speaking to us today at the end of this age.

Ezekiel 6:1-14 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, and say, “O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys: ‘Indeed I, even I, will bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. Then your altars shall be desolate, your incense altars shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. And I will lay the corpses of the children of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones all around your altars. In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate, so that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, your idols may be broken and made to cease, your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am the Lord.

“Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries. Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations. And they shall know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.”

‘Thus says the Lord God: “Pound your fists and stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. He who is far off shall die by the pestilence, he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine. Thus will I spend My fury upon them. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when their slain are among their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree, and under every thick oak, wherever they offered sweet incense to all their idols. So I will stretch out My hand against them and make the land desolate, yes, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblah, in all their dwelling places. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” ’ ”

Ezekiel 21:1-27 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, preach against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel; and say to the land of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I am against you, and I will draw My sword out of its sheath and cut off both righteous and wicked from you. Because I will cut off both righteous and wicked from you, therefore My sword shall go out of its sheath against all flesh from south to north, that all flesh may know that I, the Lord, have drawn My sword out of its sheath; it shall not return anymore.” ’ Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes. And it shall be when they say to you, ‘Why are you sighing?’ that you shall answer, ‘Because of the news; when it comes, every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall be brought to pass,’ says the Lord God.”

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ Say:

‘A sword, a sword is sharpened
And also polished!
Sharpened to make a dreadful slaughter,
Polished to flash like lightning!
Should we then make mirth?
It despises the scepter of My son,
As it does all wood.
And He has given it to be polished,
That it may be handled;
This sword is sharpened, and it is polished
To be given into the hand of the slayer.’
“Cry and wail, son of man;
For it will be against My people,
Against all the princes of Israel.
Terrors including the sword will be against My people;
Therefore strike your thigh.
“Because it is a testing,
And what if the sword despises even the scepter?
The scepter shall be no more,” says the Lord God.
“You therefore, son of man, prophesy,
And strike your hands together.
The third time let the sword do double damage.
It is the sword that slays,
The sword that slays the great men,
That enters their private chambers.
I have set the point of the sword against all their gates,
That the heart may melt and many may stumble.
Ah! It is made bright;
It is grasped for slaughter:
“Swords at the ready!
Thrust right!
Set your blade!
Thrust left—
Wherever your edge is ordered!
“I also will beat My fists together,
And I will cause My fury to rest;
I, the Lord, have spoken.”

The word of the Lord came to me again, saying: “And son of man, appoint for yourself two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to go; both of them shall go from the same land. Make a sign; put it at the head of the road to the city. Appoint a road for the sword to go to Rabbah of the Ammonites, and to Judah, into fortified Jerusalem. For the king of Babylon stands at the parting of the road, at the fork of the two roads, to use divination: he shakes the arrows, he consults the images, he looks at the liver. In his right hand is the divination for Jerusalem: to set up battering rams, to call for a slaughter, to lift the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to heap up a siege mound, and to build a wall. And it will be to them like a false divination in the eyes of those who have sworn oaths with them; but he will bring their iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear—because you have come to remembrance, you shall be taken in hand.

“Now to you, O profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, whose iniquity shall end, thus says the Lord God:
“Remove the turban, and take off the crown;
Nothing shall remain the same.
Exalt the humble, and humble the exalted.
Overthrown, overthrown,
I will make it overthrown!
It shall be no longer,
Until He comes whose right it is,
And I will give it to Him.” ’

Compare what is said here by Yehovah with what He says in Lev 26. Even the Monarchs will die.

This remembrance day think back at the horrors of WW I and WW II and then consider what is about to come and is going to last for 13 years in total. It is time to get things right with Yehovah.

It is time that you too warn those that have ears and those far off. It is time for you too to speak up and sound this warning.

Where are we told to expect a Messiah in the Torah?

Many of you read those things I write and do not prove them true or false. For the most part, you either agree or disagree and that is it.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine declared that there was no proof that Old Testament claimed that the Messiah would come the first time let alone a second time. Many immediately called him a heretic and then stopped listening to him or any more of his teachings. I watched his videos and listened to questions and statement. They were well thought out and gave me a new assignment.

Over the past few weeks, I have been rebuking many of you for your lack of respect for the Sabbath and Holy Days and the way you callously broke them. I Also wrote to you about your abnormal love affair with all things fake and your lack of study habits. Many wrote in to thank me for these rebukes and promised to change.

So this week we are going to get into some real meat. Proving from the Old Testament that the Messiah was to come. Let me resay this. This week you are going to get into some real meat teachings because you are going to do the work. So listen carefully.

This week I have an assignment for you. Pretend you are living in Jerusalem and the year is 4 BC. The New Testament has not been written and Yehshua has not been born.

Prove to me why we are expecting a Messiah at this time. All you have to prove it is the Torah. You only have the Torah, the Prophets, and the Psalms. So prove it to me. Prove it to yourself.

From the Torah prove to me and to anyone else that the Messiah is about to come. Just prove it.

Then once you have found those scriptures that show a Messiah is about come, write out those scriptures and send them to me. Or post them in the comment section below.

We read in Luke 24:44 Yehshua stating that the scriptures are the Torah, the Prophets, and the Psalms. These are the books you are to use. Not the New Testament.

Luke 24:44-45 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

I can count 31 people who claimed to be the Messiah. You can read about them all at this link

Now before you continue to read, I want you to list and quote the scriptures that prove we were to be expecting a Messiah about 4 B.C.

Then once you have done this you can continue to read. I will give you some clues in the articles to follow.

At the last minute, I have changed my mind. You know sightedmoon.com’s by-line is “To Prove All Things”.  This week you are going to step up to the plate and you’re going to do the work. I have removed some of the answers I was about to share. I want you to do this assignment. Prove from the Torah that we are expecting a Messiah about 4 B.C. Prove it me and yourself.

Write the answers in the comments below this article.

If I get no answers then I will assume you do not care and we can go back to some milk teachings. I need to have some answers by the end of Sabbath in order to know which way I should direct my efforts for next week. Whether I return to milk or continue in the meat teachings.

You have believed in Jesus all your life. Now you believe in Yehshua. So it should be very easy for you to prove to me from the Torah why he was expected around 4 B.C. Please, no long essays. Just quote the scriptures with a brief explanation if they need any. So get to it.

    The wise men who saw the stars to find the newborn Saviour also no-doubt understood the writings of Jeremiah and Daniel’s vision in chapter 9. The seventy sevens were seventy schmitta years, and they culminated at the time the Messiah arrived.

    “A few weeks ago a friend of mine declared that there was no proof that Old Testament claimed that the Messiah would come the first time let alone a second time.”
    He did a lot more than that Joseph, he stated that the whole Brit Chadasha is all make belief fairy tales. This ‘friend’ of yours has denied the Messiah and scorned all who believe in the Messiah. I have never seen such a blasphemous attack on the Scriptures ever in my life – not even from athiests.
    I trust you have called him to order, failing which he is to be shuned as a brother in the faith. I am sad to see a man with such promise, end up like that.

    This was a great assignment. Your friend is right. You can’t “Prove” anything. One has to conclude that it is like the evolutionist using cyclical reasoning, “ How do you know that this Tyrannosaurus is 160 million years old?” “Well, because we found it in rock dated to 160 million years ago.” “Ok, so how do we know the rock is 160 million years old?” ‘Because we found a 160 million year old dinosaur there!” HUHHH??? This is the same problem. We see the beginning revealed in the end. Wow!!! In the “New Testament,” King Herod asked his chief priests and teachers of the law where the Messiah (or Christ) was to be born. They replied, “In Bethlehem of Judea,” specifically quoting Micah 5:2 (see Matthew 2:1-6). Some say there are over 800 specific Prophecies that Yashua fulfilled. Here are 8 I borrowed from Good News Magazine: Prophecy 1: Jesus would be born
    in Bethlehem
    “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though
    you are little among the thousands of Judah,
    yet out of you shall come forth to Me the
    One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings
    forth are from of old, from everlasting”
    (Micah 5:2). Prophecy 2: A herald would proclaim Jesus
    More than four centuries before Jesus’
    birth, God raised up a prophet who stated
    that Jesus’ ministry would be preceded by
    another prophet who would foretell His
    coming: “Behold, I will send My messenger,
    and he will prepare the way before Me”
    (Malachi 3:1). Prophecy 3: Jesus would enter
    Jerusalem riding a donkey
    The prophet Zechariah recorded a prophecy
    pertaining to an event that would occur
    during the last week of Jesus’ life: “Rejoice
    greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O
    daughter of Jerusalem! Behold your King is
    coming to you; He is just and having salvation,
    lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt,
    the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9). Prophecy 4: He would be like a
    shepherd who is struck down
    “‘Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd,
    against the Man who is My Companion,’
    says the Lord of hosts. ‘Strike the Shepherd,
    and the sheep will be scattered’”
    (Zechariah 13:7). Prophecy 5: He would be betrayed
    for 30 pieces of silver
    “And the Lord said to me, ‘Throw it to
    the potter’—that princely price they set on
    me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and
    threw them into the house of the Lord for
    the potter” (Zechariah 11:13). Prophecy 6: He offered no defense
    at His trial
    “He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
    yet He opened not His mouth; He was led
    as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep
    before its shearers is silent, so He opened
    not His mouth” (Isaiah 53:7). Prophecy 7: He would die by crucifixion
    “The congregation of the wicked has
    enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My
    feet” (Psalm 22:16). Prophecy 8: He would die with criminals
    yet be buried with the rich
    And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. (Isaiah 53:9). SO I HAVE TO CONCLUDE THAT YOU CAN’T PROVE ANY OF THIS UNTIL AFTER WE ARE SHOWN IT. “I have declared the former things from the
    beginning; they went forth from My mouth,
    and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did
    them, and they came to pass . . . Even from
    the beginning I have declared it to you;
    before it came to pass I proclaimed it to
    you, lest you should say, ‘My idol has done
    them, and my carved image and my molded
    image have commanded them’” (Isaiah
    ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have
    entered into the heart of man the things
    which God has prepared for those who
    love Him.’ But God has revealed them to
    us through His Spirit. For the Spirit
    searches all things, yes, the deep things
    of God”! Thank you Joe, this was as eye opening as the first time I realized that everywhere it say’s “Scriptures” in the “New Testament,” it really means the “Old Testament”! Shalom, Todd Wroe

    The Suffering and Exaltation of the Messiah
    Prophecy: Isaiah 52:13-53:12
    13 See, my servant will act wisely;
    will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
    14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him-
    appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man
    and his form marred beyond human likeness-
    15 so will he sprinkle many nations,
    and kings will shut their mouths because of him.
    For what they were not told, they will see,
    and what they have not heard, they will understand.
    Isaiah 53 1 Who has believed our message
    and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
    2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
    and like a root out of dry ground.
    He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
    nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
    3 He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
    Like one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
    4 Surely he took up our infirmities
    and carried our sorrows,
    yet we considered him stricken by God,
    smitten by him, and afflicted.
    5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
    the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
    6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to his own way;
    and the LORD has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.
    7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
    he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
    8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
    And who can speak of his descendants?
    For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
    9 He was assigned a grave with the ,
    and with the rich in his death,
    though he had done no violence,
    nor was any deceit in his mouth.
    10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
    and though the LORD makes his a guilt offering,
    he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
    and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
    11 After the suffering of his soul,
    he will see the and be satisfied;
    by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
    and he will bear their iniquities.
    12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
    and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
    because he poured out his life unto death,
    and was numbered with the transgressors.
    For he bore the sin of many, and made
    intercession for the transgressors.
    Fulfillment: 1 Peter 2:22-25; 5:6-8; Philippians 2:6-11
    Description: The Servant’s Mission and Calling
    Prophecy: Isaiah 42:1-9
    1 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
    my chosen one in whom I delight;
    I will put my Spirit on him
    and he will bring justice to the nations.
    2 He will not shout or cry out,
    or raise his voice in the streets.
    3 A bruised reed he will not break,
    and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
    In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
    4 he will not falter or be discouraged
    till he establishes justice on earth.
    In his law the islands will put their hope.”
    5 This is what God the LORD says-
    he who created the heavens and stretched them out,
    who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it,
    who gives breath to its people,
    and life to those who walk on it:
    6 “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;
    I will take hold of your hand.
    I will keep you and will make you
    to be a covenant for the people
    and a light for the Gentiles,
    7 to open eyes that are blind,
    to free captives from prison
    and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
    8 “I am the LORD ; that is my name!
    I will not give my glory to another
    or my praise to idols.
    9 See, the former things have taken place,
    and new things I declare;
    before they spring into being
    I announce them to you.”
    Fulfillment: Matthew 12:9-21
    Description: Israel’s Redeemer and a Light to the Nations
    Prophecy: Isaiah 49:1-7
    1 Listen to me, you islands;
    hear this, you distant nations:
    Before I was born the LORD called me;
    from my birth he has made mention of my name.
    2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,
    in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
    he made me into a polished arrow
    and concealed me in his quiver.
    3 He said to me, “You are my servant,
    Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”
    4 But I said, “I have labored to no purpose;
    I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing.
    Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand,
    and my reward is with my God.”
    5 And now the LORD says-
    he who formed me in the womb to be his servant
    to bring Jacob back to him
    and gather Israel to himself,
    for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD
    and my God has been my strength-
    6 he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
    to restore the tribes of Jacob
    and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
    I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
    that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”
    7 This is what the LORD says-
    the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel-
    to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation,
    to the servant of rulers:
    “Kings will see you and rise up,
    princes will see and bow down,
    because of the LORD, who is faithful,
    the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
    Fulfillment: Luke 4:16-20; Romans 11:25-26
    Description: The Servant’s Obedience
    Prophecy: Isaiah 50:4-10
    4 The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue,
    to know the word that sustains the weary.
    He wakens me morning by morning,
    wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
    5 The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears,
    and I have not been rebellious;
    I have not drawn back.
    6 I offered my back to those who beat me,
    my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard;
    I did not hide my face
    from mocking and spitting.
    7 Because the Sovereign LORD helps me,
    I will not be disgraced.
    Therefore have I set my face like flint,
    and I know I will not be put to shame.
    8 He who vindicates me is near.
    Who then will bring charges against me?
    Let us face each other!
    Who is my accuser?
    Let him confront me!
    9 It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me.
    Who is he that will condemn me?
    They will all wear out like a garment;
    the moths will eat them up.
    10 Who among you fears the LORD
    and obeys the word of his servant?
    Let him who walks in the dark,
    who has no light,
    trust in the name of the LORD
    and rely on his God.
    Fulfillment: Matthew 26:67; 27:27-31
    Description: The Rejected Cornerstone, Chosen by God
    Prophecy: Psalm 118:22-23
    22 The stone the builders rejected
    has become the capstone;
    23 the LORD has done this,
    and it is marvelous in our eyes.
    Fulfillment: Matthew 21:33-44
    Description: Delivered Out of the Jaws of Death
    Prophecy: Psalm 22:1-31
    1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
    Why are you so far from saving me,
    so far from the words of my groaning?
    2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
    by night, and am not silent.
    3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
    you are the praise of Israel.
    4 In you our fathers put their trust;
    they trusted and you delivered them.
    5 They cried to you and were saved;
    in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
    6 But I am a worm and not a man,
    scorned by men and despised by the people.
    7 All who see me mock me;
    they hurl insults, shaking their heads:
    8 “He trusts in the LORD ;
    let the LORD rescue him.
    Let him deliver him,
    since he delights in him.”
    9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you
    even at my mother’s breast.
    10 From birth I was cast upon you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
    11 Do not be far from me,
    for trouble is near
    and there is no one to help.
    12 Many bulls surround me;
    strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
    13 Roaring lions tearing their prey
    open their mouths wide against me.
    14 I am poured out like water,
    and all my bones are out of joint.
    My heart has turned to wax;
    it has melted away within me.
    15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
    and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
    you lay me in the dust of death.
    16 Dogs have surrounded me;
    a band of evil men has encircled me,
    they have pierced my hands and my feet.
    17 I can count all my bones;
    people stare and gloat over me.
    18 They divide my garments among them
    and cast lots for my clothing.
    19 But you, O LORD, be not far off;
    O my Strength, come quickly to help me.
    20 Deliver my life from the sword,
    my precious life from the power of the dogs.
    21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
    save me from the horns of the wild oxen.
    22 I will declare your name to my brothers;
    in the congregation I will praise you.
    23 You who fear the LORD, praise him!
    All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
    Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
    24 For he has not despised or disdained
    the suffering of the afflicted one;
    he has not hidden his face from him
    but has listened to his cry for help.
    25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
    before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows.
    26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
    they who seek the LORD will praise him-
    may your hearts live forever!
    27 All the ends of the earth
    will remember and turn to the LORD,
    and all the families of the nations
    will bow down before him,
    28 for dominion belongs to the LORD
    and he rules over the nations.
    29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
    all who go down to the dust will kneel before him-
    those who cannot keep themselves alive.
    30 Posterity will serve him;
    future generations will be told about the Lord.
    31 They will proclaim his righteousness
    to a people yet unborn-
    for he has done it.
    Fulfillment: Mark 15:16-37; 16:1-7

    Because he is at my right hand,
    I will not be shaken.
    9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
    10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,
    nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
    11 You have made known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

    2 The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion;
    you will rule in the midst of your enemies.
    3 Your troops will be willing
    on your day of battle.
    Arrayed in holy majesty,
    from the womb of the dawn
    you will receive the dew of your youth.
    4 The LORD has sworn
    and will not change his mind:
    “You are a priest forever,
    in the order of Melchizedek.”
    5 The Lord is at your right hand;
    he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
    6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead
    and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.

    He will reign on David’s throne

    Description: God’s Anointed Ruler and Son
    Prophecy: Psalm 2:1-12
    1 Why do the nations conspire
    and the peoples plot in vain?
    2 The kings of the earth take their stand
    and the rulers gather together
    against the LORD
    and against his Anointed One.
    3 “Let us break their chains,” they say,
    “and throw off their fetters.”
    4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
    5 Then he rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
    6 “I have installed my King
    on Zion, my holy hill.”
    7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD :
    He said to me, “You are my Son;
    today I have become your Father.
    8 Ask of me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
    9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
    10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
    11 Serve the LORD with fear
    and rejoice with trembling.
    12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
    and you be destroyed in your way,

    from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
    2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-
    the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
    the Spirit of counsel and of power,
    the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD –
    3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD .
    He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
    or decide by what he hears with his ears;
    4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
    with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
    He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
    with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
    5 Righteousness will be his belt
    and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
    6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
    the leopard will lie down with the goat,
    the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
    and a little child will lead them.
    7 The cow will feed with the bear,
    their young will lie down together,
    and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
    8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
    and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.
    9 They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
    for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
    as the waters cover the sea.

    24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people
    and your holy city to finish transgression, to put
    an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in
    everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy
    and to anoint the most holy.
    25 “Know and understand
    this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild
    Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there
    will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be
    rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.
    26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut
    off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will
    come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will
    come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and
    desolations have been decreed.
    27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’
    In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice
    and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up
    an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that
    is decreed is poured out on him.

    whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty.
    But who can endure the day of his coming?
    Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a
    refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.
    3 He will sit as a refiner
    and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine
    them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men
    who will bring offerings in righteousness,
    4 and the offerings
    of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD,
    as in days gone by, as in former years.
    5 “So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick
    to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those
    who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows
    and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear
    me,” says the LORD Almighty.
    6 “I the LORD do not change.
    So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

    11 On that day the weeping in
    Jerusalem will be great, like the weeping of Hadad Rimmon

    Who denies the Messiah can not be my friend any longer for he is neither my brother any longer. I could be his freiend, but he not, and I refuse to listen to his lies, because we are not one with him/her..
    There are many who do this secretly and deny the Messiah, but the light uncovers the darkness, and they will be exposed. Qustion is: can they return after their fatal mistake respectively repent and be grafted back? I know the anser , but I want to see if you can answer with yes or no and of course with scriptural prove. Thanks!
    Those deniers, however I doubt that these ever have been really grafted in. In what or Whom? many say we are grafted into Israel, are we? I am grafted into the Messiah and He is the root of the Olivtree and we are the branches, the Olivetree of a-l-l Yisra’el, the whole house of our Elohim YaHUaH (the remnant of Yah’s people). Shalom be with you.

    Using Online Research:
    You limited our research to the old testament which is fair enough, but shouldn’t one also consider the older major writings of sumerian origin from which some of the old testament fragments derive?
    Nevertheless, still and all, here are some old testament scriptures found relating to “the anointed one” from which in messianic terms (as a root or origin) the term “messiah” are derived.
    Exodus 29.4-8
    1 Cron.29.22
    1 Sam.9.25-10.1
    1 Sam.16.10-13
    1 Kings 19.15-16
    Isaiah 61.1
    2 Sam.6.12-19
    2 Sam.7.11-16
    2 Sam.23.1-7
    Psalm 2.2-9
    Psalm 20.6-9
    Psalm 45.3-7
    Psalm 110.1-6
    Micah 5.1-6
    Isaiah 7.13-15
    Isaiah 11.1-9
    Note: These scriptures were found using various on-line bible texts with included search engines using such search string(s) as: “the anointed one”,”anointed one” and “anointed” respectively. These scriptural references may not be an exhaustive result however, as other search terms may be even more appropriate. Notwithstanding, this challenge caused an enjoyable and educational bible study.
    Thank you Joe — I needed that !!

    I know of whom you are speaking. I heard part of one of his videos, and I must say he is a betrayer of Yehovah’s sheep. His words were as though he was the Evil One speaking himself. It will be better for that man to have never known, than his latter end. He now belongs to the synagogue of satan. Mark him as such, as a heretic, and give him no credence, nor wish him God’s blessings, for he is antichrist, for without the Son, he does not have Yehovah. His father is the devil. John 8:12-59, I John 2:18-26; 4:1-6, 2 John 1:7-11, Rev. 2:8-9

    Also, there are approximately 453 Old Testament Scriptural references to the Messiah and his coming.

    So many seem to think that this gentleman who brought these things up is in the wrong. To be honest he has EVERY right to ask those questions and some of the answers here so far could be countered. The answers lie more in the Hebrew and that is why I am learning it and why others should as well. This gentleman brought up some questions that even I cannot answer nor have I found an answer as of yet for it and it is dealing with drinking His blood and eating His body even though it is metaphorical.
    It does cause a shakeup and rightly so. We all have been too long just accepting what we have been told. The aleph/beit is one place to start as well as with the heavens and the mazzaroth/constellations of which Abraham was told to ‘sepher’ them. Sepher means to tell the story, count, to write, to number, to narrate, to cut, a document, a book, to write a letter, barber, hairdresser, enumeration, border, frontier. My good friend Eric Bissell has a fantastic outlook on the Hebrew aleph/beit and the word structures.
    I believe one of the first prophecies is in Genesis 1:1 and can only be seen in the Hebrew. We have an untranslated aleph/tav being the fourth word and then we have an aleph/tav with a vav in front in the sixth postion. Now I know this might beyond some people’s learning and understanding but please bear with me. The aleph/tav is WITH Elohim in the beginning and Elohim IS the aleph and tav in accordance with Isaiah. The sixth word is vav. aleph, tav and it is connecting heavens and earth. This is one clue and there are others.
    One of the Scriptures brought up is Numbers 23:19 where most have it translated as ‘God is not man that He should lie….’ From what I have seen in the Hebrew it says more on the line of ‘Man is NOT El and/but he lies…’ Also in Exodus there is a passage that says YHWH IS a man of war. Now we know YHWH is spirit and no man has ever seen Him but that doesn’t mean He cannot come as a human such that we can understand.
    Now we have Abraham who according to YHWH is a prophet and so 3 men came to him one day and 2 we know were angels and the third one seems to be YHWH Himself so how can that be? Also we have the covenant of the pieces and Abraham was to be one of the parties to pass through the pieces yet he is in a deep sleep, so who took his place since in order to make a covenant there has to be two parties. Elohim knew ahead of time that Abraham’s descendants would break the covenant and that would mean the one who broke it must become like those pieces. Does any one see the seriousness of this all?
    So what would Elohim have planned that would rectify this problem of broken relationship between Him and Abraham’s descendants? Someone had to take the place of Abraham’s descendants in the making of the covenant. Then later we have Isaac who is promised to Abraham, yet he came almost 25 years later and in the mean time Ishmael is born. Now Abraham’s life is a prophecy to us even today so what can we glean from all of this? Why was Isaac chosen to be offered up to YHWH instead of a ram?
    This is some thoughts.

    Thank you, Joe, for this assignment! And even more for your standing for truth!! I first searched in my Bible app for messiah…nothing, then savior…again nothing I was curious because surely those words are in scripture!! So I tried google…and came to a list from a site Jews for Jesus with 40 most Helpful Messianic Prophesies…I see the list shared in an earlier response..but as I read through each reference few really fit this question, parts of the verses worked but when read further don’t really work. Its like reading the verses we have known and making them fit, but if we look at the bigger picture our pieces seemed forced to fit.
    Isaiah 52:13-53:12 seems to be the best reference… wounded for our transgressions, by his stripes we are healed, laid on him the iniquities of us all…made his grave with the wicked, with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, no deceit in his mouth, his soul makes an offering for guilt, he bore the sin of many, & makes intercession for transgressors…
    Psalms 22 mentions hands and feet pierced
    Psalms 118 rejected cornerstone
    Isaiah 9:6-7 wonderful counselor, mighty God, prince of peace (yet almost seems out of place)
    Isaiah 35: 5-6 mention signs of healing (yet when did the Ransomed return?)
    Psalm 16:8-11 resurrected (more like kept and rewarded)
    I then did a search for salvation and WOW!! So many references it is so WORTH following closely His truths!! (Psalms 27, 40, 42, 53, 62, 79, 85, 96, 98, 106)
    Job 13- let his truths speak for themselves-give proof!!…
    Then so many more repeat what you have been saying…quit playing the game and get serious walk closely to His ways/truths!!
    Deut.32 He accomplishes destruction (on disobedience) then takes vengeance on enemies…
    Isaiah 54 Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, brief moment you were deserted but will be gathered, He will have compassion, have no fear!!…
    Isaiah 56 give His requirements: keep justice, do righteousness..my salvation will come, my deliverance be revealed, blessed is the man who does this..who keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it& keeps his hand from doing evil… Keep sabbath, do not profane it, hold fast to covenant=joyful!!!…
    Jeremiah 23 -beautiful promise of God’s gathering, deals with false teachers..
    Jer31- gathered, restored, He who scattered will gather & shepherd…
    Isaiah 42:23 who will give ear to this, will attend and listen for the time to come?..the Lord against Him have we sinned, in whose ways we would not walk, law we did not obey, so He poured on them His anger, fire all around, but did not understand, burned up but did not take it to heart…(ouch)
    Isaiah 65 beautiful promise of restoration
    Isaiah 66 final judgment
    Isaiah 55 seek the Lord while He may be found, let all return to the Lord for pardon, His ways are higher, His word accomplishes His purpose…
    Proverbs 11:6- the righteousness of the upright delivers them..13:6 righteousness guards him whose way is blameless….Proverbs21:6 to do righteousness & justice is better than sacrifice…
    What do I get from this study???
    Listen and Do!!!
    Repent and follow closely His laws/commandments!!
    Do justice, righteousness, be humble!
    Rejoice in His stuff!!
    Keep Sabbath…celebrate His festivals.
    In our resting is our strength…
    He will set it all Right!!!
    Many Blessings!!
    Shabbat Shalom,

  24. Pieter

    Since my birth I’ve been thrown on you; you are my God from my mother’s womb.
    Psa 22:11 Don’t stay far from me, for trouble is near; and there is no one to help.
    Psa 22:12 Many bulls surround me, wild bulls of Bashan close in on me.
    Psa 22:13 They open their mouths wide against me, like ravening, roaring lions.
    Psa 22:14 I am poured out like water; all my bones are out of joint; my heart has become like wax – it melts inside me;
    Psa 22:15 my mouth is as dry as a fragment of a pot, my tongue sticks to my palate; you lay me down in the dust of death.
    Psa 22:16 Dogs are all around me, a pack of villains closes in on me like a lion [at] my hands and feet. [Or: “They pierced my hands and feet.”]
    Psa 22:17 I can count every one of my bones, while they gaze at me and gloat.
    Psa 22:18 They divide my garments among themselves; for my clothing they throw dice.
    Psa 22:19 But you, Adonai, don’t stay far away! My strength, come quickly to help me!
    Psa 22:20 Rescue me from the sword, my life from the power of the dogs.
    Psa 22:21 Save me from the lion’s mouth! You have answered me from the wild bulls’ horns.
    Psa 22:22 I will proclaim your name to my kinsmen; right there in the assembly I will praise you:
    Psa 22:23 “You who fear Adonai, praise him! All descendants of Ya`akov, glorify him! All descendants of Isra’el, stand in awe of him!
    Psa 22:24 For he has not despised or abhorred the poverty of the poor; he did not hide his face from him but listened to his cry.”
    Psa 22:25 Because of you I give praise in the great assembly; I will fulfill my vows in the sight of those who fear him.
    Psa 22:26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek Adonai will praise him; Your hearts will enjoy life forever.
    Psa 22:27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Adonai; all the clans of the nations will worship in your presence.

    See how my servant will succeed! He will be raised up, exalted, highly honored!
    Isa 52:14 Just as many were appalled at him, because he was so disfigured that he didn’t even seem human and simply no longer looked like a man,
    Isa 52:15 so now he will startle many nations; because of him, kings will be speechless. For they will see what they had not been told, they will ponder things they had never heard.”

    Aharon was a mashiach. Aharon’s sons were meshichim. Every (properly ordained) Kohen HaGadol was a machiach. King David was mashiach, as was every king of Israel and Judah. Mashiach simply means “one who is anointed”.
    The idea of a mashiach who would be a redeemer of the nation, who would make atonement for the nation, who would regather the exiles, reunify the nation and restore Israel to her position of preeminence was first formulated by the men of the Great Assembly after the Babylonian exile. They carefully went back over the scriptures and examined the writings for hints and signs of the redeemer and the coming geulah (redemption). There is not one single verse in the Tanakh that can be said to be literally about THE machiach (in the pashat sense). Every interpretation of a passage as being about the coming mashiach requires a drash or sod level interpretation; if it weren’t for the sages and rabbis, we would have no concept of Mashiach at all.
    Like Joe said, check your church doctrine and Christian eisegesis at the door – you won’t be needing those. Either Yeshua stands up to scrutiny as the Jewish messiah expected by the sages, or he doesn’t.
    If we can’t live up to Joe’s challenge (and I’m not sure that I can, yet), how would any of us stand a chance if faced by one of the anti-missionaries who revel in taking the Church’s interpretation of the scriptures, showing exactly why it is wrong and (based on that wrong understanding) why Jesus can’t be the Jewish messiah, and then leaving no alternative but to deny Yeshua? Can anyone here answer the anti-missionaries’ arguments using only Jewish sources (including the Tanakh)? I’ve seen too many good people fall into that trap and I don’t intend to be one of them.
    Shavua Tov!

    Shalom Joseph! You wrote “I want you to list and quote the scriptures that prove we were to be expecting a Messiah about 4 B.C.“
    I could not find the answer.
    Did find some of the scriptures quoted by other readers, but they do not indicate the time.?
    Maybe you could advise what material to use for “proving”.

    I must admit that I only run this races on FAITH and with the Spirit that i may see truth. And by my works you will see my faith.

The virgin in this constellation was holding a BRANCH in one hand and a wheat bundle(?) that contain SEED, the One True Seed who was prophecied to come. Clothed with the sun, moon at her feet, 12 stars on crown, serpent constellation (representing herod who would have all babies 2yrs old and under killed) was also present.

    The old testament is about the Messiah coming. Thanks for the question Joe

    Joseph, I thought I was done with “homework” decades ago. Ha! Actually, this is a good topic to bring. I had a similar conversation with a group of men about 5 years ago who were doubting the New Testament, and doubting that Yeshua was who he claimed to be. We sat in this one man’s family room for at least an hour while I and 1 other brother offered proofs. I think his big hang up was on the divinity of Messiah, but no matter what we showed it didn’t matter. I think you have expressed similar frustration with people you have dealt with. Anyway, I don’t have a ton of scriptures yet, because I didn’t know if the deadline was this Sabbath (11/11/17) or next, but I assumed this.
    Some that came to mind first: Gen. 3:15, Gen. 4:25 , Gen. 5:28,29 , Gen. 22:1-18; Gen. 26:3-5; Gen. 28:14-15; Gen. 49:10;
    Numbers 24:17 ; 1 Samuel 2:10; 1 Sam. 2:35 ; 2 Samuel 7:11-16;
    Psalm 2;
    Daniel 9:24-27; Daniel 7:9-14 , 27; Daniel 2:36-44
    Isaiah 42:1-8 ; Isaiah 49:1-7 ; Isaiah 52:13-15; Isaiah 53 ; Isaiah 59:20,21 ; Isaiah 62:11
    Jeremiah 23:5,6 ;
    This could take all day and more. It is fun to look at these and more come to mind that I have not had the chance to research. I am sure many of your subscribers will also find these and others. It is good to dig into these different topics. I do wonder if the man who started this whole question would even receive the things we all are listing. Hopefully he will look at them and realize the truth.
    Yehovah continue to bless you and keep you as you spread His Word. Shabbat Shalom. Your brother, Gregg

    First off, it’s midway through the Sabbath, and I do not see any postings where anyone has “specifically” answered your question as of yet concerning “why he was expected around 4 B.C?” – either that, or you are holding those answers back for a bit. So, like others, I’ll briefly list some research (the numerals are chapter numbers) but, then come back and give “an” answer:

    So, yeah, after 4 BC… after 28 CE… after 70 AD… after a time, one can look at ALL of these scriptures and see that HE was the Messiah. But, your question was about expecting HIM around 4 BC:
    Living in that time, I would primarily use the Scriptures that I marked with asterisks(*), although I would have the rich history of my people from Genesis and such for symbolism, the question is about 4 BC. Using the proper calendar, I would know how to count by sevens and know that the 4th millennial day was nearing an end and that the Messiah would come as the current age was coming to an end (as folks believe about our current time). In other words, I would be looking. Also, if I was an educated man, like the Chaldean Astronomers (“wisemen”) who trained where the prophet Daniel worked, I would be looking for a star (mentioned by Balaam of all people) and might even know something about when and how that star would appear. I would obviously look for someone from Bethlehem of the tribe of Judah.
    If I was a little slow (as the “wisemen” were… taking a few years to get there), I would ask about a virgin descending from Jesse who conceived and named her child Immanuel (spoken about by Isaiah, who’s name in Hebrew is similar to the Messiah). As David was the most famous king in all of Israel, I might even make the mistake of asking Herod. If I took too long (like folks of this age who will not understand until they see the two witnesses), I would begin looking for that voice crying in the wilderness (John “the Baptist”) and listen to what he has to say.
    Living in that day, the whole riding in on a donkey, suffering, and confirmation in the who order of the Feast days in the crucifixion (especially the “piercing” of his side in Jerusalem) and resurrection would confirm the prophecies of the scriptures home to me… but, then again, that would be way after 4 BC (which unfortunately for our current age, recognizing events after the fact will simply be too late).
    I hope that this answer was not too lengthy and hits more “specifically” towards your question.
    NOTE: I did not list any references to the book of Daniel, as I believe much of his writings have to do with the end of man’s time (70*49, or 3430 years from Moses and the burning bush), and not the timing of the birth of the Messiah (that some people attempt to calculate from Ezra’s temple declaration).

    I know all of those scriptures, but where does the OT show Jesus will be born 4 BC? I can prove it in the NT, but not the OT. Can anyone be specific about Jesus being born 4 BC? Thanks and YHVH God bless each of you!! He is coming quickly… Nickie

    There is a wealth of tanach scriptures that tell of the ‘Promised Seed’, our Mashiach.
    But you are asking for the ones that tell WHEN He will come.
    Gen 1: 14 tells us that the lights that divided the day and night were also to be for SIGNS , and for seasons , and for days and for years .
    Isaiah 7:14. YHVH Himself shall give you a SIGN . Behold a Virgin (Bethuda) shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name Immanu’el.
    The ancient Hebrews intimately knew the courses of the heavenly bodies. Their whole way of life was patterned around them . They knew what to look for in expecting the birth of the Maschiah. This is the same sign given again in Rev 12.

  42. Barb hemphill

    And my favourite all proving Tanach scripture of Maschiach to come is Isaiah 9: 6-7
    “For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulder and His
    name shall be called Wonderful , Counsellor the mighty El, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
    Of the increase of His rule and peace there is no end, upon the throne of David over His reign , to establish it and sustain it with right ruling and with righteousness from now on, even forever. “

    At the risk of sounding dumb as a sack. Ok, I need help here because using the word “anointed” strongs 4899, the hebrew for messiah, I’m having a difficult time making a direct connection. I’m trying to not let my previous teachings influence my thoughts here, like you said if you were using only the old testament because the new did not exist. Am I off base here or is this why the “jews” do not see it the way the chistians do?

    Think I found it (well, according to the 1983 Thompson Chain Reference Bible).
    Daniel 9:25 – 7 sevens and 62 sevens – with the first census, called by Ceaser Augustus, cited as the fulfillment. Luke 2:1,2.

  47. Victoria

    Jo, you said “prove to me from the Torah why he was expected around 4 B.”
    For that reason I ignored scriptures that were vague about a future time, or that were after the fact.
    The lesson learnt from your assignment is that research is a skill. One that I need to develop! After hours in various Bible copies and in Google, there was still no answer. Could you please use one newsletter to share on tactics and tools?

    Greetings Joe!
    The idea of that the Messiah would be Yahweh incarnating himself is the real issue and the division between the Jewish conception of a Messiah and the Christian conception. Since you have asked for scriptural references to a Messiah, would you please point out one that states that Yahweh would incarnate himself to be the Messiah and that he, not some human would be the Messiah.
    Much appreciated from your old Stetson co-worker,

    Genesis 1:3 And Elohim said, “Let light come to be,” and light came to be. (The word for light in hebrew is or. The same word used by ????? in John when He declared He was the light of the world.)
    Gen. 3:15 “And I put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. b He shall crush your head, and you shall crush His heel.”
    Ex. 23:20-21 ““See, I am sending a Messenger before you to guard you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. “Be on guard before Him and obey His voice. Do not rebel against Him, for He is not going to pardon your transgression, for My Name is in Him.”
    Looking for someone with the Name Yahshua the Fathers Name would be in the Name of the Redeemer.
    Deut. 18:18-19 “I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him.” (The hebrew word and verb for raise up is ???? (aqim) which means “I will raise up” and is in the imperfect tense relating to a future event)
    Isaiah 52:13-53:12 which is highly debated about whether or not this pertains to a coming savior. However, i believe it refers to a savior.
    Jeremiah 23:5-6 “See, the days are coming,” declares ????, “when I shall raise for Dawid? a Branch of righteousness, and a Sovereign shall reign and act wisely, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness in the earth. “In His days Yehud?ah shall be saved, and Yisra’?l dwell safely. And this is His Name whereby He shall be called: ‘???? our Righteousness.’”
    Jeremiah 33:15 “In those days and at that time I cause a Branch of righteousness to spring forth for Dawid?. And He shall do right-ruling and righteousness in the earth.”
    Zech. 3:8 “Now listen, Yehoshua the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of symbol. For look, I am bringing forth My Servant – the Branch.”
    Zech. 6:12 “and shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus said ???? of hosts, saying, “See, the Man whose name is the Branch! a And from His place He shall branch out, and He shall build the H?k?al of ????. ”
    Micah 5 and the Psalms are numerous. Another is Proverbs 8 especially vv 22-23 ” “???? possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old. “I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was.”
    Possess in the hebrew word ??? (qanah). Whats interesting is concretely this verb means a branch and to acquire someone or something by a method, hence to bring forth into existence. To me this confirms YHWH speaking the light into existence by His word (dabar in hebrew – ???) and also confirms the Branch spoken of in the prophets that YHWH would aqim or raise up…
    Sorry that i responded to this newsletter so late. I hope this info bids you well along with the other readers. Shalom….

    I forgot to post these as well…
    Zech. 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Tsiyon! Shout, O daughter of Yerushalayim! See, your Sovereign is coming to you, He is righteous and endowed with deliverance, humble and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
    Zech. 12:10 “And I shall pour on the house of Dawid? and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim a spirit of favour and prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son. And they shall be in bitterness over Him as a bitterness over the first-born.”
    Daniel 9:25-27 “Know, then, and understand: from the going forth of the command to restore and build Yerushalayim until Messiah the Prince is seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It shall be built again, with streets and a trench, but in times of affliction. “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off and have naught. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the set-apart place. And the end of it is with a flood. And wastes are decreed, and fighting until the end. “And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall put an end to slaughtering and meal offering. And on the wing of abominations he shall lay waste, even until the complete end and that which is decreed is poured out on the one who lays waste.”
    In the Babylonian Talmud tractate Sanhedrin 98a says, “if the children of Yisra’el are righteous the saviour will come riding in on the clouds. If the people are unworthy and unrighteous He will come in riding on an ass”

    It should be obvious, especially in hindsight, that Yeshua was included in the ancient scriptures. In Luke 24:27, Yeshua says “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” An exhaustive list of the verses in the Tanach pointing to the Messiah of Israel would take a great deal of time to compile. My two favorite passages pointing to the Messiah are the stories of the binding of Isaac (The Aketah) and the life of Joseph, specifically the verses starting at Gen. 37:12 which speak of the father sending his son to check on the welfare of the Aleph Tav Flock. This starts the story of redemption, which includes our past and future. Of course, Aleph Tav was there at the right hand of Elohim “in the beginning”. When Pharoah and his army had Moses and all of Israel trapped at the Red Sea, notice what Moses said, “Fear not. Stand still and see Aleph Tav the Yeshua of Yehovah”.

    Just checking. Did all comments get listed or were some left off? I spent a fair amount of time researching and posted several verses. I for some reason went back to see that it showed up, but it never did. There were comments added before and after, but mine never appeared. You have all the right to screen comments but they were just verses with some explanations. Did you just have too many responses or might I have done something wrong in trying to add my comment? Just trying to understand.
    It was a worthwhile little study either way.

    I think the only scripture that gives a timeline that leads to the approximate 4BC birth of the Messiah is in Daniel 9:24-26
    9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy set-apart city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Set-apart. [70 weeks x7 days in a week=490 days or prophetic years determined for Daniel’s people, the Jews ]
    9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. [69 weeks from the edict to rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah is anointed or 483 years. Edict is carried forth by Ezra in 457BC, since there is no year zero, we use 456-483=27AD is when Yahshua was baptized by John and so anointed to begin His ministry. Add the 3 years required for the minimum age to enter the service of the ministry prescribed in Numbers 4:47 at age 30, we would find Messiah’s birth to be around 4BC (again, no year zero) Note: During the first 7 weeks or 49 years, the rebuilding of Jerusalem was completed, along with the Temple, during troublous times.
    9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (Years after the death and resurrection of Messiah, in 70AD, the city of Jerusalem and the sanctuary were destroyed by Roman General Titus, the future Emperor. After the war ended he ordered it made so desolate that one would not have known it had ever been inhabited.)

    Wow , Its almost IMPOSSIBLE to NOT see YEshua throughout the Tanakh., as all can see above there are Hundreds of scriptures that SHOW that HE was to come long ago . All the promise of this redeemer was from the START , even when you go to the original HEbrew , its even MORE prominent in the letters and compilation of the original language. HE IS everywhere! Even I did not realize HOW rampant the warnings of HIS coming are in the WORD. Also the message of his second coming is as well throughout the bible too.
    Thank you Joseph Dumond for this unique INTERACTIVE newsletter, it makes us WORK to prove these things to OURSELVES where it really MATTERS.
