Shabbat Kids Ministry

At our leadership meeting this week, it was suggested we begin to have Shabbat services specifically for the kids. As this sounded good to those at the meeting, the question came up, as to just how many would be interested in attending and what are the ages? And then who would be interested in working on this and developing this with us?

So I am now putting the question to you. If you are interested then please drop me a note and answer the questions above please.

The New President of the USA

This past Wednesday President Elect Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the USA. With 25, 000 National Guard protecting the Capitol from what some were calling for, an armed insurrection, the ceremonies this January 20, 2021, went off with out a hitch. No people no trouble, no nothing.

I was disappointed that President Trump chose not to attend the ceremony. He went out as it were the back door. He should have stood up and stood proud and left with the respect that he deserves. I greatly respected President Trump.

I am not writing this about President Trump or the newly sworn in President Biden. I am writing this in hopes that you all are marking and identifying those ministries that swore up and down on a stack of bibles that God told them President Trump was not going to be leaving the White House. They said President Biden would never be president because God told them so.

I just want to make sure you mark each and every one of them. And if you are one of them…….

And when you do, when you do mark them, I want you to also remember that we here at sightedmoon.com warned you many times about believing conspiracy teachings from these other groups. We warned you repeatedly about being involved in that crap.

I am not here to gloat or accuse or anything else. I am here asking you to repent from what has now proven to be false teachings and return to the Torah and it alone. Do not go chasing the crowd to some secret social media site where you can all share new conspiracy teachings. You still have time to repent and return.

Genesis 1:14 The Sun The Moon and the Stars

Shalom, Joe

Praying you are well. I have a genuinely   honest question.

You know I’ve been reading your weekly newsletters since your very first one in 2005. I’ve always been a truth seeker and question everything.  I study and pray seeking the truth. I’m blessed that Yah showed me the Way and called me to His True path.

Recently I’ve been moved to question the barley search. I’ve always just accepted men’s teachings in this, but can you show me where in Scripture we are commanded to search for barley?

I’ve read the studies and I still question. In your newsletter this week you wrote:
“ Once again Yehovah is asking if you are going to obey His voice, or if you would rather follow the dictates of men and their man-made rules.”

Is not the barley search a tradition of men? This is vitally important because it is the calendar of the Creator. We’ve got to get it right.

One would think that Yah would tell us we are to search for barley to start His new year. But He does not command us to do this. Scripture does not command us to do a barley search.

Seems to me that man has used his logic and reasoning, putting together certain Scripture verses to come up with this method to determine the new year.

As always, I question everything and like the Bereans, we study to show ourselves approved.

May you be well as you continue to stand in the gap. May Yah be with you.

Shalom,
Laura Smith

I am not exactly sure why I am questioning the barley search at this time.  The best way I can explain it is that the question has been placed upon my heart and mind recently, if that makes sense.
It just seems to me that Elohim would give us a command to search for the barley, if that was His plan. I hearken back to something you always told us:  if you don’t find the command in Lev 23 then don’t do it 🙂 yes?
~ and yes, I enjoyed being your New York newsletter editor for many years. I’ve had to step away a bit as my teenage daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma. She’s doing remarkably well, praise Yah. She’s responding very well to treatment.
Yah is with us.
Keep us in your prayers Joe.
Shabbat shalom!
One of the Great verses in the bible is the following.
Pro 25:2  The glory of God is to hide a thing; but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.
As we read the scriptures there are many things there that do not always make complete sense. Yehovah is trying to get us to exercise our brains and to search for the answers in His Torah and learn these secret things. Once we discover something then we are more app to remember it and how we learned about it.

Psa 19:7  The Law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of Jehovah is sure, making the simple wise.

Psa 19:8  The Precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the Commandments of Jehovah are pure, giving light to the eyes.

Psa 19:9  The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true and righteous altogether,

Psa 19:10  more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Psa 19:11  And Your servant is warned by them; in keeping them there is great reward.

There is great reward in searching and finding the truths contained in the scriptures. In that searching we often go and see what others have found and learn from them.

Recently I was talking with a brother about this very verse, so this question is perfect timing.

Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.

This brother used this verse in Gen 1:14 to justify his usage of the equinoxes to determine when the Year begins. So I asked him how exactly does this show him the the moedim or the Holy Days?

He began by telling me how the moon regulated the tides around the world and with that he could look on charts for high and low tides.

I responded by saying that the Torah does not mention anything about the tides nor us using the tides to determine the Holy Days.
So then I asked him about how the stars show him when the Holy Days are? He said that the sun and the moon had to be in Virgo for the fall Holy Days to begin and that they also had to be in the constellation of the Ram for the spring Holy Days.
I asked hi what about the constellation drift that was occurring over the centuries? Had he considered that in his calculations? I mentioned to him how the sun was moving through each constellation about every 2 thousand years if my memory was correct.
I then asked how he calculated a 13th month or Adar Bet using the sun the moon and the stars of Gen 1:14. No answer.
I then asked him if would explain how the Sun determined the Holy Days?
He quickly jumped on that saying it was used to show when the spring and fall equinoxes were. I responded with but the equinoxes are not mentioned the Torah. To which he said;
Exo 34:22  And you shall observe the Feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year’s end.
The last word here is the word end and in Hebrew it is;

H8622   (Strong)
תְּקֻפָה    תְּקוּפָה

teqûphâh    teqûphâh

tek-oo-faw’, tek-oo-faw’

From H5362; a revolution, that is, (of the sun) course, (of time) lapse: – circuit, come about, end.

So does this word Tequphah, mean equinox as some assume? To answer this I turn to Nehemia’s Karaite Korner.

Abib FAQ:
Vernal Equinox and Tekufah
Q: Is the equinox (Tekufah) mentioned in the Tanach (Hebrew Bible)?

The claim has been made by proponents of the equinox calendar theory that the word equinox actually appears in the Tanach. They are referring to the word Tekufah or Tequfah which appears in the Hebrew Bible four times. Tekufah is in fact the post-Biblical word for “equinox”, however, it never has the meaning of “equinox” in the Tanach. In Biblical Hebrew, Tekufah retains its literal meaning of “circuit”, that is something which returns to the same point in time or space [from the root Nun.Quf.Pe. meaning “to go around”]. To claim that Tekufah means equinox in the Tanach, just because it had this meaning in later Hebrew, is an anchronism. This would be like saying that there were handguns in ancient Israel because the word EKDACH, the post-Biblical Hebrew word for handgun, appears in Isaiah 54:12. Let us consider another example of this anachronistic use of language: Before the invention of the electronic computer during World War II, the word “computer” referred to a man who sat at a desk calculating (computing) mathematical equations. Imagine if we found an 18th century document mentioning “computers” and proclaimed to the world that there were really electronic computers in the 18th century. This is exactly what the equinox-followers are doing with the word Tekufah. To better understand this, let us consider the four appearances of Tekufah in the Tanach.

Tekufah in Exodus 34:22

The first appearance of Tekufah is in the list of Pilgrimage-Feasts (Hagim) in Ex 34:22 which refers to the agricultural character of the Feast of Booths (Sukkot):

“And the Feast of Ingathering at the circuit of the year (Tekufat HaShannah).”

Being mislead by the Post-Biblical Hebrew meaning of Tekufah, some have interpreted “circuit of the year” anachronistically to refer to the Autumnal Equinox (it is doubtful whether the ancient Israelites even knew of the equinox and they certainly had no way of calculating when it would be). This anachronistic reading leads to the suggestion of fixing the beginning of the year so that Sukkot (The Feast of Ingathering) falls out at the time of the Autumnal Equinox. However, a closer investigation shows that “circuit of the year” has nothing to do with the equinox. The list of Pilgrimage-Feasts also appears in a parallel passage in Ex 23:16 which describes Sukkot as follows:

“And the Feast of Ingathering at the going out of the year (Tzet HaShannah), when you have gathered in your work from the field.”

Exodus 34 is actually an almost verbatim paraphrase of Exodus 23 and it is important to compare and contrast these two passages; the differences are often very enlightening. Comparing Ex 34:22 and Ex 23:16 it is clear that the “going out of the year” and the “circuit of the year” refer to the same time. The “going out/ circuit” of the year is described in Ex 23:16 as “when you have gathered in your work from the field”. This agricultural ingathering is also described in Dt 16:13:

“You shall keep the Feast of Booths for seven days, when you have gathered in from your threshing floors and from your wine presses.”

The Feast of Booths/ Ingathering is described as the “going out of the year” because it takes place at the end of the yearly agricultural cycle of planting, harvest, threshing, and ingathering. At the same time, Sukkot is described as taking place at the “circuit of the year” because once the agricultural cycle ends it then immediately recommences (making a circuit, returning to the same point in time) with the planting of the fields after the first rains (sometimes during or shortly after Sukkot itself).

Tekufah in Psalms 19:7

The term Tekufah (circuit) appears in Psalm 19 in reference to the sun, but here too it has nothing to do with the equinox. Psalm 19 describes the heavens and sun, which from their unique vantage point are witness to all things in creation, and thus (metaphorically) testify to the incomparable glory of God. Verses 5-7 describes the sun:

“(5)… He [YHWH] placed a tent among them [the heavens] for the sun. (6) Which is as a bridegroom going out of his chamber, and which rejoices as a strong man running a race. (7) From the end of the heavens is its [the sun’s] going out and its circuit (Tekufato) is to their [the heavens] ends, and none is hidden from its heat”

Verse 6 describes the sun as a bridegroom that bursts forth out of his chamber and as a hero that runs along a path. Verse 7 then describes the “going out” of the sun at one end of the heavens and the “circuit” (Tekufato) of the sun at the other end. Clearly what is being described is the daily path of the sun which rises at one end of the heaven (its going out) and sets at the other end (its return), “and none is hidden from its heat” during the course of the day. What has confused some readers is that the going out or exiting of the sun refers to sunrise, but this unusual terminology is used throughout the Tanach. For example, we read in Judges 5:31:

“Thus shall all the enemies of YHWH be destroyed; and all those whom he loves shall be as the going out of the sun (KeTzet HaShemesh) in its might”. (Jud 5,31)

Those loyal to YHWH shall shine forth with glory as the “going out of the sun”, that is sunrise. It may seem strange that sunrise is referred to as the “going out” of the sun. After all, in Exodus we saw that the going out of the year was the endof the year, whereas the going out of the sun is the beginning of the day. However, this is consistent with Biblical usage and in fact the common Biblical way of saying sunset is the coming in or entering of the sun. This is related to the ancient Israelite conception of the sun which at night was thought of as metaphorically dwelling in a celestial chamber (Ps 19:5). At dawn the sun goes out of this metaphorical chamber and the earth is lit while at night the sun comes into the metaphorical chamber and it is dark. This is also the thought behind the comparison of sunrise to a bridegroom coming forth from his chamber. Ps 19:7 refers to the going out of the sun (sunrise) at one end of heaven and its circuit (return to the same place, to its nightly chamber) at the other end, that is sunset (for a similar thought see Ecc 1:5). We see that here too Tekufah (circuit) has nothing to do with the equinox.

Tekufah in 2Chronicles 24:23

As seen above the “Tekufah (circuit) of the year” in Exodus referred to events in the autumn (the time of the ingathering). The same expression (circuit of the year) is also used to refer to events which take place in late spring as we see in 2Chr 24:23:

“And it was at the circuit (Tekufah) of the year that the army of Aram went up and they came to Judah and Jerusalem…”

In this instance the “Circuit (Tekufah) of the year” comes in place of the common expression “Return (Teshuvah) of the year” which appears several times in the Tanach as “the time when kings go out [to war]” as in:

“And it was at the return (Teshuvah) of the year, and Ben-Haddad counted Aram and went up to Afek to war with Israel.” (1Ki 20:26).

“And it was at the return (Teshuvah) of the year, at the time the kings go out [to war] and David sent Yoav… and they smote the Amonites and besieged Rabbah…” (2Sam 11:1)

The time that the kings went out to war was the late spring before the oppresive heat of summer and after the winter rains which made the mud roads in the Land of Israel impassable. We see here that Tekufah (circuit) of the year is used interchangeably with the more common Teshuvah (return) of the year. Whenever this annual set time for kings to go out to war comes around it is a “circuit of the year”, returning to the same point in time as last year.

Tekufah in 1Samuel 1:20

The term Tekufah (circuit) also appears in 1Sam 1:20 which says:

“And it was at the circuits (Tekufot) of the days, and Hannah conceived and bore a son…”

Here the “circuits” of the days refers to “the same time the following year” [or possibly to the completion of the term of pregnancy?]. It is worth noting that Tekufah is plural in 1Sam 1:20 as tekufot “circuitS”. If we apply the anachronistic meaning of Tekufah as equinox then we get the absurd translation: “And it was at the equinoxes of the days, and Hanah concieved and bore a son…” This emphasizes how important it is to understand Scripture in its historical and linguistic context.

None of the four appearances of Tekufah in the Hebrew Scripture have anything to do with the equinox. Instead, this term is used in Biblical Hebrew in its primary sense of a “circuit”, that is a return to the same point in space or time. Only in Post-Biblical Hebrew did Tekufah come to mean “equinox” and to read this meaning into the Tanach creates an anachronism.

Then my brother asked me where do I get using barley from the Bible to start the year?
I responded in saying from Gen 1:14 by using the Sun and the Moon. I said the constellations assist, but I go by the sun and the moon just a Gen 1:14 says.
I then went on to explain that in the exact same way he justified the use of the moon to regulate the tides, I use the heat and warmth of the sun to regulate the growth of the barley to bring it to maturity.
Yehovah controls how much sun or warmth will land on the barley and make it grow. If he wants to slow its growth down then he sends cold rains and clouds to slow the growth. If he wants to speed things up He stops the rains and send hot air heated by the sun.
So by watching the growth of the barley I could know when Yehovah is telling me to begin the year because we must have barley for the wave sheaf on morrow after the Sabbath during the days of Unleavened bread. To which He agreed.
I then said if you go by the equinox you will not be watching the barley and you may not have the first fruits to wave on wave sheaf day. It has to be the first, not the middle or the end of the left overs that you wave before Yehovah.

Psa 89:34  I will not break My covenant, nor change the thing that has gone out of My lips.

Psa 89:35  Once I have sworn by My holiness that I will not lie to David.

Psa 89:36  His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.

Psa 89:37  It shall be established forever like the moon, and like a faithful witness in the heavens. Selah.

Psalms 104:19  He appointed the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down.

The Sun and the Moon are faithful witnesses. You can see the sun each day and feel its warmth on you. The moon you can see each night. In order for the moon to be a witness it must be seen. A conjuncture moon is not seen and therefor not be any witness at all.

Yehovah should have told us how to look for the start of the year.

In Exodus 12:2 Yehovah tells us when to keep the first month of the year.

Exo 12:2  This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

Again I turn to Nehemia’s wall.

The story of the Exodus relates “This day you are going out in the the month of the Aviv.” (Ex 13:4).

To commemorate that we left Egypt in the month of the Aviv, we are instructed to bring the Passover sacrifice and celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot) at this time of year. In Dt 16:1 we are commanded:

“Keep the month of the Aviv and make the Passover (sacrifice) to Yehovah your God at night, because in the month of the Aviv, Yehovah your God took you out of Egypt”.
Similarly, we are commanded in Ex 23:15,

“You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you will eat unleavened bread, as I have commanded you, at the time of the month of the Aviv, because in it you went out of Egypt.”
The same is commanded in Ex 34:18,

“You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; seven days you will eat unleavened bread, as have I commanded you, at the time of the month of the Aviv, because in the month of the Aviv you went out of Egypt.”

What is Aviv?

Aviv indicates a stage in the development of the barley crops. This is clear from Ex 9:31-32 which describes the devastation caused by the plague of hail:

“And the flax and the barley were smitten, because the barley was Aviv and the flax was Giv’ol. And the wheat and the spelt were not smitten because they were dark (Afilot).”
The above passage relates that the barley crops were destroyed by the hail while the wheat and spelt were not damaged. To understand the reason for this we must look at how grain develops. When grains are early in their development they are flexible and have a dark green color. As they become ripe they take on a light yellowish hue and become more brittle. The reason that the barley was destroyed and the wheat was not is that the barley had reached the stage in its development called Aviv and as a result had become brittle enough to be damaged by the hail. In contrast, the wheat and spelt were still early enough in their development, at a stage when they were flexible and not susceptible to being damaged by hail. The description of the wheat and spelt as “dark” (Afilot) indicates that they were still in the stage when they were deep green and had not yet begun to lighten into the light yellowish hue which characterizes ripe grains. In contrast, the barley had reached the stage of Aviv at which time it was no longer “dark” and at this point it probably had begun to develop golden streaks.

Parched Aviv

We know from several passages that barley which is in the state of Aviv has not completely ripened, but has ripened enough so that its seeds can be eaten parched in fire. Parched barley was a commonly eaten food in ancient Israel and is mentioned in numerous passages in the Hebrew Bible as either “Aviv parched (Kalui) in fire” (Lev 2,14) or in the abbreviated form “parched (Kalui/ Kali)” (Lev 23:14; Jos 5:11; 1Sam 17:17; 1 Samuel 25:18; 2 Samuel 17:28; Ruth 2:14).

While still early in its development, barley has not yet produced large enough and firm enough seeds to produce food through parching. This early in its development, when the “head” has just come out of the shaft, the seeds are not substantial enough to produce any food. At a later stage, the seeds have grown in size and have filled with liquid. At this point the seeds will shrivel up when parched and will only produce empty skins. Over time the liquid is replaced with dry material and when enough dry material has amassed the seeds will be able to yield “barley parched in fire”.

Aviv and the Harvest

The month of the Aviv is the month which commences after the barley has reached the stage of Aviv. 2-3 weeks after the beginning of the month the barley has moved beyond the stage of Aviv and is ready to be brought as the “wave-sheaf offering” (Hanafat HaOmer). The “wave-sheaf offering” is a sacrifice brought from the first stalks cut in the harvest and is brought on the Sunday which falls out during Passover (Chag HaMatzot). This is described in Lev 23:10-11,

“When you come to the land which I give you, and harvest its harvest, you will bring the sheaf of the beginning of your harvest to the priest. And he will wave the sheaf before Yehovah so you will be accepted; on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest will wave it.”
From this it is clear that the barley, which was Aviv at the beginning of the month, has become harvest-ready 15-21 days later (i.e by the Sunday during Passover). Therefore, the month of the Aviv can not begin unless the barley has reached a stage where it will be harvest-ready 2-3 weeks later.

That the barley must be harvest-ready 2-3 weeks into the month of the Aviv is also clear from Dt 16:9 which states:

“From when the sickle commences on the standing grain you will begin to count seven weeks.”
From Lev 23:15 we know that the seven weeks between Passover (Chag Hamatzot) and Pentecost (Shavuot) begin on the day when the wave-sheaf offering is brought (i.e. the Sunday which falls out during Passover):

“And you shall count from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the sheaf of waving; they will be seven complete Sabbaths.”
Therefore, the “sickle commences on the standing grain” on the Sunday during Passover, i.e. 2-3 weeks after the beginning of the month of the Aviv. If the barley is not developed enough so that it will be ready for the sickle 2-3 weeks later, then the month of the Aviv can not begin and we must wait till the following month.

It should be noted that not all the barley ripens in the Land of Israel at the same time. The wave-sheaf offering is a national sacrifice brought from the first fields to become harvest-ready. However, the first-fruit offerings brought by individual farmers can vary in ripeness anywhere from “Aviv parched in fire” to fully ripe grain which may be brought “crushed” or “coarsely ground”. This is what is meant in Lev 2:14,

“And when you bring a first-fruit offering to Yehovah; you shall bring your first-fruit offering as Aviv parched in fire or crushed Carmel” (Carmel is grain which has hardened beyond Aviv to the point where it can be “crushed” or “coarsely ground”).
All of the above passages have been translated directly from the Hebrew and it is worth noting that the King James translators seem to have only understood the various Hebrew agricultural terms very poorly. In Lev 2:14 they translated Carmel as “full ears” and “Aviv” as “green ears” whereas in Lev 23:14 they translated Carmel as “green ears”!

In summation, barley which is in the state of Aviv has 3 characteristics:

It is brittle enough to be destroyed by hail and has begun to lighten in color (it is not “dark”).
The seeds have produced enough dry material so it can be eaten parched.
It has developed enough so that it will be harvest-ready 2-3 weeks later.

Thank You, All!

If you are familiar with my past articles you will remember that in 2014 I wrote about the “Tetrad of Blood Moons” that was being hyped on television and internet religious sites ((It was really a sextet.)). Later, in 2016, when the “Shemitah Craze” became popular I tried to debunk many of the misconceptions about the Sabbatical Year. I later wrote about mine and Von’s, plus many of our friends and family, observance of the Sabbatical Year. That was one of the most exciting years of my life. If you will remember I showed maps of the full solar eclipse of August 21, 2017 and the coming total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 and how they formed an X across much of North America. Also, I pointed out that the junction of those eclipses would be close to St. Louis, Missouri and Cairo, Illinois. So much for past events.

I want to talk about another eclipse that arrives before April 8, 2024 and that is the annular solar eclipse of October 14, 2023. Notice, that once again it will traverse across the North America including the United States. It’s path will take it over the American Southwest and Texas.

Now, I want to show you the eclipse of April 8, 2024:

I will show you the image of the August 2017 solar eclipse one more time:

Now, thanks to the magic made possible by GreatAmericanEclipse.com website I want to show you what these 3 eclipses will look like when put together:

Now, for those of you who can read paleo-Hebrew alarm bells and whistles should be going off in your head, heart or wherever. Paleo-Hebrew was the type of Hebrew in use at the time of King David, and for you readers of paleo many, if not most, of you should be able to locate two Hebrew characters in the image above. This brings us to the title of this article. For those of you who cannot read paleo-Hebrew let me give you a little help. The Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew Aleph-Bet or alphabet. In paleo-Hebrew it would appear as sideways A, yes, Virginia this is where our English A originates:

Next, the paleo-Hebrew Tav, which is the last letter of the Hebrew Aleph-Bet, would appear as an X or cross or sideways t, yep, you got it, this is where our T comes from in English:

Carefully observe the X that crosses the United States and centers itself near Cairo, Illinois. This would be the Tav. Now, look at the 2 eclipses that are together in the Washington state and Oregon state area and then split, one going across the heartland of American in 2017 and the other going across the American Southwest in October 2023. These two form the V shape of the paleo Aleph and the eclipse going from Texas to Maine forms the upright leg or I portion of the Aleph.

I purposely used the NASA maps because of the data included in the tracks of the eclipses, i.e. magnitude, Gamma, track width and duration and other things that I will need to use to plot intensity at some future time. ((Remember this is much like magnitude or amplitude I just chose the word intensity so as not to cause confusion with earthquakes or radio-waves.))

For those of you who are followers of The Way, i.e. Hebrew Roots, Messianic Jews, the dates of these eclipses should be the next thing that has probably already caught your attention; October 14th and April 8th. By now, most of you may not understand but you should know that I do not follow the Hillel Jewish Calendar. I understand the supposed necessity of having the calendar, if you go out to sight the moon you will be killed by the Romans, but I’m not Jewish nor Roman. I am a follower of The Way and our Messiah commanded us to “Watch”. For what? The sliver of the moon***. I said this to qualify what I am about to say. October 14 could very possibly line up with the celebration of Sukkot. April 8th could very possibly line up with the celebration of Unleavened Bread, please remember the Passover is the Preparation Day for Unleavened Bread. Since April 8th is on a Monday it will not be First Fruits. It is even possible with an Adar Bet, or 13th month, it could be Aviv, the First Day of the First Month of YHVH’s calendar.

***Author’s Note: For those of you who would like to learn more about the sighting of the sliver or the “Day and the Hour that No Man Knows”, I can heartily recommend Mr. Joseph F. Dumond’s book It Was A Riddle Not A Command. Also, if you want to learn more about many of the topics I have covered in this article and others about cycles please go to Mr. Dumond’s site Sightedmoon.com where you can find thousands of pages of his very voluminous research that he has done over the years.

If you will remember, or research if you don’t remember, the August 21, 2017 eclipse fell during the 40 days of Repentance prior to Yom Kippur of 2017 (month of Elul).

There is much more that I need to explain but I am trying to not overwhelm anyone with information overload. I will, Yah willing, write another article about the importance and occurrence of the Aleph-Tav in Scripture, why Yehua (Jesus) would never say “Alpha and Omega” and the overall importance of the Aleph-Tav in Hebrew but to do so now would be too much at one time and quite honestly it would take a large book to incorporate everything about this topic and would have to be done by a Hebrew scholar, not some retired farmer from southeast Texas.

Num 6:22  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Num 6:23  “Speak to Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Yisra’ěl. Say to them:
Num 6:24  “יהוה bless you and guard you;
Num 6:25  יהוה make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;
Num 6:26  יהוה lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” ’
Num 6:27  “Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yisra’ěl, and I Myself shall bless them.”

Shalom,

I Am The Aleph And The Tav: Part Two

Last week I told you about the coming occurrence of the what Todd Bennett refers to as the “Aleph Tav Eclipses”. It is also called the “Great American Eclipses”* Once again I will direct your attention to another site, that of Todd Bennett. His website https://www.shemayisrael.net/ is an excellent source of information about the subject I am talking about. Todd has many fine books and if what I am talking about sounds like Greek to you I highly recommend you consider buying the first book in his “Walk in the Light” series entitled Restoration. For born again Christians he has one entitled The Christian Conundrum which may help explain things better. I do like Restoration better myself.

((Please note that the name The Great American Eclipses” is the registered trademark of the Great American Eclipses, LLC. and I make no claim to this name whatsoever.))

This week I want to show you why the Aleph and the Tav are so notable and important to all believers in Yeshua (Jesus) Hamashiach (the Messiah). To do this I will try to give you a thumbnail understanding of the ancient Biblical Hebrew language. Here is the first test as to whether or not something is important, how many times does it occur, this case, in the Tanakh/Old Testament. God’s name in the Hebrew Bible is YHVH/יהוה is found 6,954 times in 5,899 Scriptures. That’s a lot. YHVH’s most common title in Hebrew is Elohim is found 2,365 times in 2,078 verses. Now, the word composed of Aleph and Tav (Strongs #H853) is found 7,302 times in 5,650 verses. Think about that for a moment and you will see that this is a very special word if it is mentioned more times than the Name of YHVH Himself. But how? Let me try to show you.

In the very first verse of Scripture Genesis/Bereshit you find the word, or should I say The Word, used twice: בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים | אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ If you look closely at the blue words you will see that Aleph Tav appears twice in the very first verse of Scripture when it talks about the Creation. ((If you want to try and figure out what is going on try reading John 1.)) IMPORTANT NOTE: Please remember Hebrew is read right to left and that the Hebrew shown here is modern block form Hebrew, not the paleo-Hebrew I showed you last week.

Let me say here that what I was taught 40+ years ago when I first began to study Biblical Hebrew is that according to many “scholars” the Aleph Tav is the definite article of the direct object in a Semitic language. ((That is the official line.)) Let me give you a classic Arabic example of what I am talking about: El Muamar El Qaddafi.((The name of the now dead dictator of Libya)) The El is the definite article that must accompany a noun in construct. It gets a lot more complicated than that but I just wanted to give an example. If it is not in construct you do not need the El’s. That is why Westerners don’t understand why Arabic names are not consistent.

Wait a minute, if Aleph Tav is the definite article of the direct object then every direct object should have one, right? Nope, not in Biblical Hebrew. Only certain direct objects have this particular definite article. So, what gives? The Aleph Tav is a prophetic marker of instances of prophecies of the Messiah. ((In my layman’s opinion.))

This is where I need to explain some of the Hebraic meanings behind the Aleph Tav. First the Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew word for Elohim so it can represent YHVH, it can also represent the beginning and the end since Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew Aleph Bet and Tav is the last letter of the Aleph Bet. Something you must consider is that paleo-Hebrew has 4 dimensions and, I will refer to this as 4-D Hebrew. What are those dimensions? First is Conventional (common script equals letters); Second, letter are pictures that convey meaning; Third, each letter has a numeric equivalent and Fourth, Hebrew is designed to be sung so the fourth dimension is music. For reference I will give you the paleo-Hebrew Aleph Bet:

Once again, just for reference let me include the numbering system:

Believe me, right now, you have more tools at your disposal than I had 40+ years ago. I am giving you all of this to show that I am not making this up. Also, please be mindful of all copyright marking. I am claiming nothing about what I am showing you unless it is something that I have developed, in which case it is open source.

Now, let’s put the Aleph and the Tav together and see what meanings they have:

  1. The First and the Last ((Represented by their position in the Aleph Bet))
  2. The Beginning and the End ((Ibid))
  3. YHVH’s Covenant with Man ((Through Abraham: Galations 3:8-29))
  4. Prophetic Marker ((For YHVH and Yeshua))
  5. Entirety ((Like we would say “From A to Z”))

So what does all of this mean? For one thing it shows I have not passed on many of the miracles that I have discovered in YHVH’s Word to you so that you could see them and share them. ((Something I need to work on.)) Next, that there is a cohesive plan from Beginning to End in the Scriptures and that by studying the Beginning we can better understand the End.

Isa 46:9  “Remember the former events of old, for I am Ěl, and there is no one else – Elohim, and there is no one like Me,
Isa 46:10  declaring the end from the beginning, and from of old that which has not yet been done, saying, ‘My counsel does stand, and all My delight I do,’

Now, I have to tell you why all of this is important, right? If you are not familiar with the following articles please go back and read them to understand the relevance: https://codgerville.wordpress.com/2014/08/05/why-i-was-wrong-about-americas-destiny-part-one-the-curse/

https://codgerville.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/why-i-was-wrong-about-americas-destiny-part-two-the-sin/

https://codgerville.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/why-i-was-wrong-about-americas-destiny-part-iii-the-timeline/

This is where you begin in order to discover that there is a plan that stretches from Beginning to End. Please pay special attention to Part III. In it is the key to unlock the mystery of “From Beginning to End” and “The End From the Beginning” and, you will find it Highlighted in blue entitled The Jubilee Calendar from the Creation of Adam to Our Time. I developed this in the winter of 2012/13 to illustrate what it was that I was seeing repeated in Scripture. Since that time I found Charles Reed, now deceased and, Joe Dumond’s works on the same topic but, their work is in greater detail so, please don’t compare my meager understanding to theirs. But, here is the important part, all three of us agree on the following points: America entered into Judgement in 1996, the beginning of the last, 120th, Jubilee Cycle; we are midway through the 120th Cycle; this cycle ends Spring of 2024; Spring of 2024 begins the Cycle of Slavery. ((To understand this go back to the three articles above because it is shown in detail.)) Now, please go back and look at the final, of the three eclipses, that of April 08, 2024, which could very well be Month One of YHVH’s Calendar and see that it is laying the final stone of the foundation for judgement upon America. It is proclaiming that America has abandoned YHVH’s Covenant and will be dispersed/destroyed.

Gen 1:14  And Elohim said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years,
Gen 1:15  and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.” And it came to be so.

Luk 21:22  “Because these are days of vengeance, to fill all that have been written.
Luk 21:23  “And woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing children in those days! For there shall be great distress in the earth and wrath upon this people.
Luk 21:24  “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Yerushalayim shall be trampled underfoot by the nations until the times of the nations are filled.
Luk 21:25  “And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars, and on the earth anxiety of nations, in bewilderment at the roaring of the sea, and agitation,
Luk 21:26  men fainting from fear and the expectation of what is coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

What “days of Vengeance”?

Lev 26:25  ‘And I shall bring against you a sword executing the vengeance of My covenant,((Author’s note: Aleph-Tav = Elohim’s Covenant)) and you shall gather together in your cities, and I shall send pestilence ((You know, a Pandemic)) among you, and you shall be given into the hand of the enemy.

The sad part of all of this is that the modern church has discarded YHVH”s Torah, or Word, and embraced the New Testament, B’rit Hadasha, and forgotten the Beginning and so they do not see the prophecies contained in Torah:

Mat 5:17  “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete.
Mat 5:18  “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.

It is not all done yet folks. Ask yourself, Jesus said He did not come to do away with but to fulfill or complete and that the Torah would not pass away until Heaven and Earth pass away. Has Heaven passed away? Has Earth passed away since Yeshua was on Earth? If not, you need to get back to the Beginning (Aleph) so you can understand the End (Tav). You can’t separate the Aleph and the Tav because they are Yeshua.
